UTAH MASONRY COUNCIL AWARD WINNING PROJECTS

Two Design West Architects projects honored with Utah Masonry Council’s ‘Excellence in Masonry Design’ awards were featured in Utah Construction & Design Magazine. Cache Valley Bank in Logan, Utah, received one of the top ‘Honor’ awards for design and masonry excellence in restoring the Thomas Building, originally built in 1880. The resulting design preserves the integrity of the original building while ensuring the new Cache Valley Bank’s interior is modern and able to welcome its patrons. The historic J. STUDENT HOUSING DESIGN AWARD

Colorado Mesa University’s Garfield Residence Hall was featured in Learning By Design’s Architectural Design Showcase as a 2016 Outstanding Project. CMU’s Housing Demand Study identified that 40% of students would be willing to live in traditional dorms. This option had been overlooked previously and on-campus options only included apartments, suites and semi-suites. This provided an opportunity to expand housing efficiently using high-density traditional dorm design.
