Utah Masonry Council award winning projects

Two Design West Architects projects honored with Utah Masonry Council’s ‘Excellence in Masonry Design’ awards were featured in Utah Construction & Design Magazine.

Cache Valley Bank in Logan, Utah, received one of the top ‘Honor’ awards for design and masonry excellence in restoring the Thomas Building, originally built in 1880. The resulting design preserves the integrity of the original building while ensuring the new Cache Valley Bank’s interior is modern and able to welcome its patrons.

The historic J. Will Robinson Federal Building in Provo, Utah, received a ‘Citation’ award from the UMC. The project involved saving the historic building from demolition with the Social Security Administration’s occupancy and renovation. Masonry expertise was used to preserve the original granite front entry stonework and nearby sandstone building exterior while adding a necessary ADA compliant ramp that blended into the building’s original aesthetic.
