Maverick Innovation Center Pinon Living Learning Colorado Mesa University

Colorado Mesa University (CMU), in concert with its economic development partners, planned a living, learning incubator for students interested in entrepreneurship and innovation.  The Pinon Living Learning Center project was designed to encourage integration and collaboration of students learning across disciplines, as well as supporting the creation of new businesses.  Building upon successful models implemented at other institutions, our project provides interested students with a residential experience that combines academic content, entrepreneurship, mentoring, 24/7 office space, and enhanced technology that budding entrepreneurs require.  Pinon Hall, an existing 195-bed residence hall on the University’s main campus in Grand Junction, CO, was chosen as the renovated space for future young entrepreneurs and innovators.
