New School Design
Ridgeline High School’s clean, simple design responds to the current needs of Cache County School District. The school’s entry was designed to reflect the surrounding scenery, showing the connection between the community and the building. The front of the building was enhanced with vistas of the river and mountains to the west. Security of students was a top priority for administrators and staff, and the design incorporates many levels of security including: controlled entry so visitors are supervised, and a school-wide lock down alert system.
Community context, design image, function & sustainability. Safe access to the new school was not only concerning for parents but for the community as a whole. To increase traffic flow around the school, a new bridge was added over an adjacent river to allow access to the school from the main highway. Multiple entrances provided from county roads limit the amount of student traffic through the small town of Millville and make Ridgeline High School a more welcome neighbor.
